If you're like me, you're probably hitting information overload when it comes to NFTs. There are so many avatar projects out there it's hard to keep track and every night you go to sleep feeling like you missed out on the minting opportunity of a lifetime. Welcome to the wonderful world of NFTs in 2021.
First, before you start panicking that you've missed the boat, I have good news to share - you're still early, damn early. At the same time, as we all know, early is the best time to get into new investments so you could still miss out if you do nothing.
Ugh. Now you're back to feeling the never-ending FOMO that is the reality of being an NFT investor today. I know how you feel, and you're not alone, we're all in the same boat here, it's tricky to navigate and we'll all make some bad choices, but the good ones will hopefully outweigh the bad.
Which bring me to the title of this post which rattled off four different NFT projects that are probably on your mind right now. While I might have left off a project you thought I should have mentioned, like Degenz, don't worry, I'll be writing about them soon.
So let's dive in.
First things first. If you want a reliable way to invest in NFTs with very little downside risk, look no further than punks and apes. You can get a solid punk for around $50,000 and a decent ape for around $10,000. If either or both of these numbers don't scare you, no need to read on, buy the tried and true. If you don't have a five figure budget, that's okay - the projects I mentioned above all have entry points below $5k at current ETH prices and good ROI expectations.
I'll go through these one by one and keep it short as I'm probably due for an article about each of these soonish...
Wicked Craniums - this project gained traction quickly, and I'll be honest, at first I didn't get it, but now I do, and I'm late to the party. Gary Vee has been buzzing about Craniums and they are now in the #7 spot for total volume of all NFT projects listed on Rarity.Tools. I'm particularly bummed about not aping into this sooner, but I'm going to try to make up for lost time!
Bulls on the Block - I've been bullish on bulls since the beginning, and like most people, I was crushed by whales in the minting. At first I'll be honest, I was pissed. I changed on my Sunday plans to make sure I could mint some bulls, and then, minted zero bulls. That being said, I've now put close to $20,000 into Bulls on the Block, mainly because I like the art, dig the artist himself, and think the team has a solid roadmap that they seem to be busy executing against. I still think this is one of the most underrated projects out there but I'm obviously biased now.
Cool Cats - I minted Gutter Cats so sat out Cool Cats, and well, it's clear that was a mistake. For some reason I thought the market wouldn't be interested in another cat project, and well, I was very wrong. The market has spoken and they love cool cats, it's the #2 NFT project this week by volume with over 1,800 ETH ($4M) in volume. So...anyone want to sell or trade me a cat?
Gutter Cats - the floor has been rising on Gutter Cats in a way that reminds me a lot of Bored Apes in the early days. Those early days were of course only a few months ago, but come on, feels like years ago doesn't it? I was able to mint cats, love my gang, the community is 🔥 and a lot of people on Twitter have changed their profile pict to their cat, and a cat follow cat vibe is hard to miss now. While Cool Cats does seem to have the momentum now, my bet is on Gutter Cats for the long haul...
DeadHeads NFT - this project caught my eye because there's some pretty interesting utility behind it in the form of a cartoon about the DeadHeads. On top of that, I think the art is pretty darn cool. I didn't buy any DeadHeads myself but I have friends who did and they're loving it. This is definitely one to watch IMO.
Okay, there's my two cents on five NFT projects that are making the rounds right now. Yes, I'm missing critical projects like Degenz and and Forgotten Runes Wizards Cult, but I'll cover those and more in a future post. For now, I'll leave it with these five.
Oh and if you haven't joined the NFT Investing Discord, feel free to shoot me an invite, hello(at)nftinvesting.io and I'll send you an invite. That's all I've got for now, back to turning down offers on NFTs 🤷♂️
