Let's set the record straight, there is no punks - apes rivalry

Lately on Twitter there has been and more threads hinting at some kind of rivalry between CryptoPunks and Bored Apes. The most common narrative I've seen is that there's some kind of jealousy that CryptoPunks owners have for the community Bored Apes has built.

While I think most people are just joking around with these tweets, I've seen this begin to escalate and there's some real fud going around now that there is a realy rivalry forming.

I've talked to people from both sides and I thought it would be good to set the record straight - there is no rivalry, in fact, it's quite the opposite. From long-time CryptoPunk investors I've heard a lot of positive sentiment around how BoredApes is getting more people into NFTs. On the other side, I've seen plenty of Bored Apes talk about how awesome the CryptoPunks community is and how much positive energy there is between the two.

Personally, I'm a big believer in the old saying, "a rising tide raises all ships" and I think this really applies to what's happening now in the NFT world. I see so many positive things coming from the NFT world right now - from new artists getting to see their work valued and appreciated, to collectors really becoming investors as they turn a profit from their own sales - we are entering a new era and it feels like we're all doing it together.

So let's get rid of any notion that there's a rivalry between punks and apes, sure it can be fun to joke about, but on social media it's all too easy for something that was meant as a joke to be taken as the truth. We have the chance to unite the whole NFT community together as one big happy family, I think we all know we're part of something special, and these are still the early days.
