On Saturday morning I was scrolling through NFT Twitter, or what is really now just my normal Twitter stream at this point, and I heard something about a new NFT project with art from one of the Bored Ape Yacht Club artists. I hadn't heard of the project so thought I'd take a look at the site and hop on the Discord.
I was expecting to find a few hundred people on the Discord when I joined Saturday morning, there were 6,000 🤯 The mood was electric and in all honesty, it reminded me of the energy I felt in the Bored Ape Yacht Club Discord back in May of this year.
So what's the project all about?
Vampires. Sneaky Vampires to be exact. Vampires, a category that's popular with just about everyone and has been a mainstay in pop culture from Bram Stoker's Dracula, to Buffy The Vampire Slayer, to the Twilight Saga - it's safe to say - people like Vampires. And like I said, there's an artist from the Bored Ape Yacht Club so...yeah, the art is pretty darn awesome, here's a sneak peek:
So I know what you're asking next - wen Vampires? This morning the Sneaky Vampires Twitter account shared the following:
With this level of excitement there's no doubt the minting is going to be an expensive one. I asked on the Discord if people thought you'd need to spend thousands of dollars in gas to mint and the general consensus was - yes. This is definitely one of those projects that is going to see massive interest on launch day so if you don't have $2,000 - $3,000 to spend on gas, you may want to wait and buy on OpenSea after minting.
I think this project is interesting enough that I'm going to try to get a little text interview with one of the project founders, so stay-tuned for that. Oh and if you want to see what all the buzz is about, hop on the Discord, I think you'll see the energy levels are off-the-charts on this one.
